This is the seminal Dutch city bike, the Electrolux vacuum, the Viking stove, the Maytag washer of bicycles. It's been around a long time and it may outlive you. In Holland it's common to see friends transporting each other on the burly, welded steel "girfriend" rack. You may want to practice first with some saddlebags and a few groceries.
