The 1890s, the Gay Nineties were a highpoint in the industrial revolution, marking the birth of the modern bicycle. Part of America's "Gilded Age" it was a period during which an increasing number of women took to cycling, sparking a "sensible fashion" revolution. Suffocating Victorian fashion gave way to tunicks, gaiters, knickerbockers, bloomers, and "the skirt made of twin philabegs."

Our Swan has the most relaxed frame angles of any of our bikes and hence the smoothest ride.

You now can leave your bloomers (and lycra) at home and wear anything you want.
